There are a ton of Earth flyover videos shot from the International Space Station out there (this one is a favorite of mine), and while they’re all gorgeous, most of them lack one key thing: It’s really hard to tell what you’re looking at. Those auroras and thunderstorms and massive swaths of city lights at night are all incredible, but they tend to obscure any landmasses that might help you guess where in (on?) the world the camera is. That’s precisely what makes this new video so rad. Dr. Justin Wilkinson narrates a guided tour from the ISS as it flies over the Americas, Middle East, and Europe.
